Title  Waking the Titanic An Irish Town's Tragic Destiny
This is the story of 14 Irish Immigrants from one small village who sailed on the maiden/final voyage of the Titanic in 1912. Addergoole, County Mayo had less than 100 residents when these 14 left together for America. The promises of jobs lured them from their home and family. This documentary tells their tales through interviews and a reenactment of that fateful night in April when the ship hit and iceberg and over 1000 passengers were killed, most by exposure to frigid water. Detailed background information is given on the conditions in Ireland and the likely circumstances the group would find in America. Also, several short biographies are included.
