The Irish in Film
A Complete List of Irish Films

 Title  Stolen Summer
In this stereotyped Irish-American family, the father is a fireman and they have lots of kids. To many outsiders this looks like a dead-end situation. Not only will the family not climb the social ladder, but they will inevitably end up in poverty. However, those inside such a family do not see it that way. In fact, despite evidence to the contrary, they see themselves as in the best of all possible worlds. Here a young boy tries to convert his Jewish friend to Catholic. The joke is that he believes only Irish-Catholics go to heaven. The Irish may not be delighted with themselves, but they are delighted with their race. The answer to the question "you're Irish?" is "thanks for the compliment!" Link to reviews Click picture
