The Irish in Film
A Complete List of Irish Films

Title  Summer Fling (aka The Last of the High Kings)
Set in the 1970's the film shows the sudden shift in Irish culture. The new generation of Irish, not defined by the fight for independence, needs to find a cause of its own. Instead it slides into the modern ways of free love and rock and roll. Things get heated when the old generation tries to force their ways on the new. The young do not understand or respect the politics and religion of the older generation. In fact, they hold them in contempt. But, in their favor, they reject the prejudices that divided their father's time, as well. And some traditions, like the Irish wake, they are happy to carry on. Link to reviews Click picture
