The Irish in Film
A Complete List of Irish Films

Title  The Run of the Country
The rural countryside of Ireland is sparsely populated and life is simple. Everyone knows everyone and everyone's business. People live by their own rules and the Guarda (police) get no respect. Socializing occurs during work, which lasts from sunup until sundown. When a young person comes of age the prospects for finding a job outside the farm are few. It can be a lonely, slow-paced life. This may be fine enough for some, but the ambitious have only three choices: move to the city, emigrate or join the IRA. Link to reviews
