The Irish in Film
A Complete List of Irish Films

 Title  Once
Where once it was the Irish people spreading out all over the world, now we have the world immigrating to Ireland. Ever since Ireland was declared the ‘Celtic Tiger’ immigrants from all over have flocked there. Some sections of Dublin are filled with non-English, non-Irish-speaking poor. In our story a young composer, while trying to earn extra money busking in the streets, meets a Czech girl. Soon they are singing together in harmony. (The story is not too far from that of the actors playing the roles.) Could this be a metaphor for different cultures living in harmony? The featured song ‘Falling Slowly’ won the 2007 Oscar for best song. Link to reviews Click picture
