The Irish in Film
A Complete List of Irish Films

 Title  I Sell the Dead
Burke and Hare were legendary grave robbers who have received a great deal of cinematic attention. They were born in Ireland but immigrated to Scotland in the early nineteenth century. The set up is the same here. Blake and Grimes are Irish grave robbers in nineteenth century Scotland. But there the connection with the real-life men ends. This story uses them only as a jumping off point and quickly finds our lads fighting off ghouls and vampires. Ron Pearlman plays an Irishman (I didn't see that coming)who ironically is not who he seems. Also, they pick up an Irishwoman as an apprentice who, of course, outshines the lads in ruthlessness. See also: "Burke and Hare" (2010), "The Doctor and the Devils" (1985), "The Flesh and the Fiends" (1960) and "Burke and Hare" (1972). Link to reviews Click picture
