 Title  Falling for a Dancer
This 4-part TV series is based on the book by Deirdre Purcell. In it, the daughter of a wealthy lawyer finds herself in trouble and ends up, at only 19, living as a poor farmer's wife with seven children. Set in the early 1930's, in Cork, we are shown homes without electricity and cars that need to be cranked to start. The standard of living between the haves and have-nots is quite distinct. And everyone is watching you making sure you "don't get above yourself." Underneath it all is the desire for land. Having land means much more than mere survival. It means status, security, and yes, pride. Link to reviews Click picture
