 Title   Beloved Enemy
This fictional story is loosely based on the life of Michael Collins whose charismatic nature made him an effective leader both as an officer in the IRA and later as a diplomat. As in the 1996 film Michael Collins, our hero finds considerable time for his love life between organizing the theft of armored cars and visiting war widows. The violence of the time is glossed over and everyone is polite and civil. The British, shown as concerned parents of rebellious teenagers, wonder where they went wrong and cross the water to give the naughty freedom fighters a good talking-to. link to Amazon.com
