Here we have a new angle on the Troubles in Northern Ireland. As we travel on an unplanned journey without oars (like St Columbkille) we see the conflict through the eyes of a dying child. Knowing he's going to die of cancer, a young Catholic boy sets on a journey to find Jesus. He sets out in a boat without oars. Drifting north, he meets two men who we later find out are separately involved in the struggle in Northern Ireland. His innocence and his urgency cut through the anger of these cynical Ulstermen who are hell bent on revenge. Who but a child could confront a killer with the fact that they are both Celts sharing a common ancestry? If you're going to die soon, there is nothing to fear. The child's only concern is not finding meaning before he meets his maker. Link to reviews Click picture
